Lee’s story

Lee came to Columcille in the late 1990’s and contributes a strong work ethic as well as a unique sense of humour to the place, and enjoyment of words.

Lee is someone who has not always had a smooth path in life, and Columcille provides a feeling of stability, social acceptance and self-worth.

Lee is proud that in his words, “I have been here 22 years.”

When asked what he likes about Columcille Lee said:

“Drama doing plays. Joinery work – using the joinery drill. Printing using the printing machine. Drawing pictures. Seeing friends like Carole, Paul, Niamh and Kevin.”

“Like to chill out in drama. Barbara at drama. Likes my packed lunch Tuesday and Thursdays. Going out in the minibus. Cigarette smoking. Talking to Eddie.”

“Chilling with all the Columcille staff. The Barbecues and bus trips to Aberdour. Music therapy with Katie. Pottery with Denise. Varnishing bird tables. Chats in woodwork.”

“The taxi journey – doing independent travel to Columcille.”

When asked what he would miss if he didn’t come to Columcille Lee said:

“Would miss doing groups. Would miss friends (Sheree and Angela). Would miss my friends and Cari my key worker. Would miss going on minibus with David. “
